Linear Actuator Selection Guide

To determine which AC-powered linear actuator is best for your application, consider the factors below. As needed, C.H. Bull is available to help you select the right model for your unique needs. Contact us to discuss your application requirements.
  • Capacity: The force required the move and hold the load (total weight of the load)
  • Voltage: The voltage needed to power the actuator
  • Travel: The distance/range of motion required (stroke)
  • Speed: The speed at which the load must be moved
  • Duty Cycle: Percentage of time an actuator is in motion relative to total time
  • Orientation: The direction in which the actuator’s force is applied
  • Environment: The working conditions in which the actuator will operate
